I, Venkatachalam Sellappan, am a 29 years young computer consultant working in the U.S.A. for the past 5 years.  I am from a poor family.  I completed my education with bank loans.  I have an excellent academic record, and have been top rank holder in the university.  I am living a very comfortable life.

I have a genuine and heart-felt interest in serving India, our motherland and it's people.  I have been closely monitoring politics in India and USA.  I have strong nationalist feelings, and I sincerely desire to serve the nation through politics.

I am familiar with the problems faced by all sections of the Indian society.  Though I am currently living abroad, my heart is still back home.  My family background, my educational qualifications and my exposure to different countries, cultures and people have enabled me to develop a unique feeling, empathy and approach towards India's situation.  Besides being young and dynamic, I have excellent communication skills and a great social character.

I request you to nominate me as the BJP candidate from a constituency in Tamil Nadu - if possible from my home constituency of Tirunchengode in Salem district.

I have very good contacts in my home constituency.  A large number of people know me personally.  I am confident that I can successfully raise campaign money and mobilize support.  I am a positive person, and am confident of waging an earnest campaign from practically any constituency in Tamil Nadu.

I promise to be very responsive, sincere and prompt towards my constituents.  I am a very practical person,  have lots of ideas about making things happen, and  have the strong conviction of delivering on my promises.

One of my ideas is to respond promptly, in writing, to any issues raised by my constituents.  All such correspondence will be a matter of public record, possibly even on the internet.  Thus every problem, and its resolution - whether successful or not - will be made public.

I will sacrifice my private life, and use all my time and energy for my constituents. I promise to be accessible to my constituents at all times and especially when the Parliament is not in session, I will be with my constituents working on their issues.

I am willing to sacrifice my career and future in the U.S.A. to serve my country.  Just like the lotus flower, I am sure, I will standout as a next generation, honest politician amongst the others.  I will be such an exemplary M.P. that others would be forced to follow suit.  My contributions as an M.P. will result in the growth of BJP and the Nation.
